Family Counseling This type of counseling is used to treat a family system rather than individual members of the family. Family Counselors help family members find constructive ways to help each other. They work in ways that acknowledge the contexts of people's families and other relationships, sharing and respecting individuals' different perspectives, beliefs, views and stories, and exploring possible ways forward. |

Individual Counseling Individual counseling is a powerful intervention for children, adolescents, or adults who are experiencing depression, anxiety, loss, or difficulty adjusting to transition and change. The goal remains the same, to enhance the individual's ability to manage one's feelings and behaviors, make sound decisions, achieve personal goals, realize potential, and feel more in charge of his or her life. |

Couples Counseling Couples counseling, helps couples - married or not - understand and resolve conflicts and improve their relationship. Couples counseling gives couples the tools to communicate better, negotiate differences, problem solve and even argue in a healthier way. It can be short term. You may need only a few sessions to help you weather a crisis. Or you may need coumselling for several months, particularly if your relationship has greatly deteriorated. As with individual psychotherapy, you typically see a marriage counselor or therapist once a week. |
